Houston, TX (March 14, 2024) - For the second year, the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) was on the ground at Commodity Classic, promoting the use of cover crops as a valuable, economical, and sustainable resource in farming practices.
This year’s trade show was held in Houston, TX and broke the previous year’s attendance record.
ASTA staff attended sessions that covered many important topics including the importance of precision agricultural practices, the need for continued coordination between USDA and EPA with EPA’s new Ag and Rural Affairs Office, and the value of perseverance and innovation.
ASTA's Vice President, Government Affairs Janae Brady participated in two media interviews discussing the use of cover crop seed and the results of a new ASTA survey conducted to better understand the planting intentions of the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities participants.
ASTA’s intent with the survey is to help the seed industry understand and prepare for the potential demand that would come out of these projects.
"Alongside our partners at GO Seed, we were excited to get a chance to highlight the survey during Commodity Classic."
Throughout all these activities, staff visited member companies who were present at the trade show, which rounded out a successful event.
