Davis, CA (May 27, 2021) - The goal of Seed Business 101 is to enhance each participant’s career performance and help them avoid costly mistakes.

The course is designed to focus on the optimum operations of the five major functional areas of a seed company, offering participants a broad understanding of the major aspects of a seed company’s operations and a cross-departmental knowledge of best practices for profitability.

The course will be offered Aug. 16-19 + Aug. 23-26, 2021 (8 half-days) from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Central time zone, USA).

The Seed Biotechnology Center at the University of California, Davis has organized a professional development course to teach the principles of plant breeding to seed industry personnel. This two-year course addresses the reduced numbers of plant breeders being trained in academic programs. Participants meet for six sessions over two years to develop and enhance the skills of industry personnel around the world to enable them to become independent plant breeders or to contribute to larger breeding programs.
