Mike Ingham

Sacramento, CA (March 30, 2021) - The Pacific Seed Association (PSA) Board of Directors was pleased to announce the winner of the 2020 Person of the Year at the annual “virtual” meeting.

This year’s award was given to Mike Ingham for his excellence in Agriculture, contributions to the Pacific Seed Association, and dedication to the Seed Industry.

Ingham is President of Rainier Seeds Inc., located in Davenport, WA. Rainier Seeds’ production fields lie in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, primarily located in the Columbia Basin of Eastern Washington.

Ingham has been an active member of the PSA for many years and has been a leader in raising funds for the PSA scholarship program as well as serving as chair of the Native Plants/Organics Committee.

Ingham graduated from the University of Montana, started in the seed business in 1981 in Montana. He became a partner in Eastern Washington Seed Company in 1987. He purchased the company and named it Rainier Seeds Inc. in 1996.

He sold controlling interest in company in June 2020 to Lakeside Capital Group and he currently maintain a 20% interest in the company and continue to stay involved helping wherever he can.

Ingham is married to Barb since 1976 and has one daughter Molly and one granddaughter Emma. Ingham very much enjoys golfing.

“I feel very fortunate to have had a career in a great industry," Ingham states. "I have met so many wonderful people over the years and have formed great friendships. I hope to stay involved in the PSA for many years to come.”

Board members shared sentiments for the recipient, “We believe Mike has been a leader and mentor in the Seed Industry as well as the Pacific Seed Association. He has been a driving force in fundraising for the Scholarship funds to help build sustainability in the seed industry. He always willingly shares his knowledge and makes everyone feel welcome.”

Ingham is “A man of integrity.” On behalf of all of us at PSA, we wish to congratulate Mike on a well-deserved award.
