Barcelona, Spain (February 2, 2021) - International Seed Federation (ISF) Secretary General and ANOVE Secretary General Antonio Villarroel released the following information as registration started Tuesday for the World Seed Congress, which is scheduled to be held July 5-7 in Barcelona, Spain.

"ISF and the National Organizing Committee hope you are healthy and safe in these unpredictable times. During the last days and weeks we received a lot of positive energy from messages from colleagues around the world, who are so keen to meet again and hope that the situation will allow us to meet – needless to say adhering to measures that will ensure your health and that of your teams.

"As announced in our recent mailing, the ISF World Seed Congress 2021 will be a business centered event with no social activities. COVID-19 will not go away, therefore the setup onsite will be done in such a way to ensure your health and allow us to engage. During the next weeks we will constantly review and adapt the management onsite in coordination with the Congress venue, the local, regional, and national authorities.

"And yes, even if the situation today is extremely difficult for most of us, with a lot of restrictions and uncertainties, we stay optimistic that we will welcome many of you in Spain. For those who would be unable to join in person, we are making a huge effort based on our recent experience, to put in place a virtual component to make you part of the event.

"For the first year, the ISF Secretariat is tasking its Core PCO, K.I.T. Group to be responsible for the registration of Delegates and Exhibitors. This is hoped to increase the efficiency in the registration process. You will have the chance to use a new system which will give you the possibility to create a profile and have all the services in one place."

The registration starts on February 2 at 12:00 CET and closes on June 28 at 15:00 CEST.
