Kansas City, MO (August 7, 2020) - After much consideration and survey feedback received from members, the Western Seed Association (WSA) Board of Directors has decided to cancel the WSA 2020 Convention, which had been scheduled to be held Nov. 2-5 in Kansas City, MO.

The WSA says this was not an easy decision but one that is in the best interest of WSA members and attendees. There will not be a virtual event. We do look forward to seeing everyone at the WSA 2021 Convention, scheduled to be held Nov. 1-4, 2021 in Kansas City, MO.

According to the WSA, the WSA Convention provides revenue to fund the scholarship program and operations of the organization. In an effort to offset this loss to the association and provide an opportunity for members to standout without the convention, they have developed sponsorship opportunities for the WSA 2020-2021 directory and WSA Scholarship Program.

To support, visit the Western Seed Association website at www.westernseed.org, sign in as a member as support is only open to current members, and select Sponsorship from the top menu.

They appreciate your consideration of support and your continued support of the Western Seed Association. If you have any questions, contact WSA at 855-416-7333 or membership@westernseed.org.

ASTA's Farm & Lawn Seed Conference Offered Virtually For 2020

Alexandria, VA (August 19, 2020) - In the wake of the cancellation of Western Seed Association’s Annual Meeting in Kansas City, the event where ASTA typically holds its Farm and Lawn Seed Conference, all ASTA sessions will instead be offered online this November.

Modified from its original schedule, the ASTA sessions will include a general session on Tuesday, November 3, covering the latest information on farm and lawn seed and an update from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, followed by two sessions on November 4 focusing on environmental and conservation seed and cover crops.

Additionally, special virtual stand-alone sessions on sorghum and hemp seed will be offered in mid-November as combined programming between the ASTA Farm & Lawn Seed Virtual Conference and the ASTA CSS & Seed Expo Virtual.
