Department of Transportation Requests Feedback on Rural Transportation Needs and Opportunities

Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Chao announced a request for information (RFI) from the public and stakeholders regarding the safety, condition, and use of rural infrastructure, as well as stakeholders’ experiences using DOT discretionary grant and finance programs.

The RFI is part of the Rural Opportunities to Use Transportation for Economic Success Initiative (ROUTES), and the public feedback will be reviewed and used by the ROUTES Council to aid evaluation of rural projects and improve funding options.

Comments are sought by January 27, 2020.
