Lafayette, IN (August 12, 2019) - James Fung has been named Chief Executive Officer of Indiana Crop Improvement Association succeeding Alan Galbreth who retired on the last day of July after 44 years with the organization.

Fung received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Houston. Fung has spent 17 years in the Ag Industry where he served in roles in manufacturing, business, and supply chain, delivering solutions to complex situations in established and startup operations.

In this new position, Fung will focus on leadership and bring his ideas and align them with the vision and direction of ICIA. Additionally, he will increase his focus on strategic long-term planning, new business opportunities, and industry relations.

Galbreth, retiring after dedicating 44 years to the success of ICIA, is widely respected as a visionary leader not only for Indiana Crop Improvement but for seed certification and the seed industry. Galbreth has been the recipient of many industry awards from various organizations in recognition of his exemplary leadership and noteworthy accomplishments. Galbreth has traveled around the world serving on many boards and committees. Galbreth has been heavily involved with AOSCA and OECD just to name a few.

An open house will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Tuesday, Aug. 27 to honor Galbreth, welcome Fung, and offer tours of a recent addition to the ICIA building.
