Geneseo, IL (July 17, 2019) — Wyffels Hybrids is proud to announce Serving Those Who Served, a new initiative supporting worthy causes that share in its service-oriented mindset.

“Wyffels Hybrids was founded on the idea of serving our neighbors by supporting them in the pursuit of a more productive and profitable crop,” said John Wyffels, President of Wyffels Hybrids. “After more than 70 years, our mission remains to relentlessly work together serving corn growers. And now Serving Those Who Served gives individuals an opportunity to share in our mission of serving others.”

For the 2020 and 2021 growing seasons, Serving Those Who Served will benefit Homes For Our Troops (HFOT). HFOT builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.

“As a U.S. farm family-owned company, we understand the value of independence,” said Wyffels. “HFOT homes help to restore some of the independence our Veterans lost so they can focus on their families, communities, and future.”

Supporting Serving Those Who Served is easy for corn growers. For every bag of W5086RIB sold for the 2020 growing season, Wyffels Hybrids will donate $2 to HFOT. The seed will arrive on farms in special camouflage packaging, clearly indicating Serving Those Who Served seed.

Individuals can also support Serving Those Who Served by purchasing a limited edition hat or T-shirt available at wyffels.com/STWS. Serving Those Who Served hats and T-shirts will also be available to purchase at the 2019 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL.

All proceeds from Serving Those Who Served merchandise sales will go to HFOT.

Over the next two years, funds raised through Serving Those Who Served will go towards new HFOT homes for Marine Lance Corporal “Bobby” McCardle in Franklin, WI and Marine Staff Sergeant Dominic Fernandez in Lakeville, MN. Their complete stories are available on wyffels.com/STWS.

“From HFOT’s emphasis on family and independence, to focusing on one thing and serving others, we’re excited to partner with an organization that aligns so closely with our core values,” Wyffels said. “We look forward to sharing this experience with our employees and customers and supporting HFOT home builds in the Central Corn Belt. We’re honored to be a part of HFOT’s mission.”
