Ames, IA (January 23, 2019) - The Seed Technology and Business (STB) Graduate Program at Iowa State University (ISU) will host its Seed Business Management short course February 4-8, 2019. The weeklong short course takes an in-depth look at how the seed industry functions from a business perspective. As part of the event, faculty from ISU’s Ivy College of Business will lead discussions on business-to-business marketing strategies, managing supply chains, and business finance, as well as assist participants in developing their skills in the areas of leadership, teamwork and negotiation. To round out the week, experts in the industry will share their extensive career experience in research management, industry regulation, intellectual property, policy and trade.
This is the second year this short course is being offered. Those who attended the 2018 short course included industry leaders who were looking to increase their seed business knowledge.
“This is a well-designed course that gives great insight on the state of the industry and background on how our business runs,” said Collin Conner, seed production associate and 2018 short course participant.
