(January 14, 2025) - The Philippine Seed Industry Association (PSIA) announced the appointment of Alex Rigor as its new Executive Director.
Rigor has over 20 years of experience in Seed Product Development with a strong background in Plant Breeding and Molecular Genetics. He concurrently serves as a Senior Technical Consultant at DA- Philippine Rice Research Institute. Prior to his appointment, he served at the Department of Agriculture's (DA) National Rice Program and led the Southeast Asia Rice Product Development at Corteva Agriscience.
With a PhD in Applied Plant Sciences, Rigor has the knowledge, skills and industry experience to enhance the overall effectiveness of the association and help achieve its vision and mission of uplifting farmers’ lives and sustaining the development of Philippine agriculture.
