Orlando, FL (December 19, 2024) - More than 1,000 seed professionals gathered December 10-13 in Orlando, FL for the American Seed Trade Association's (ASTA) 2024 Field Crop Seed Convention.
Dan Basse kicked things off Dec. 11 with his global ag economic forecast for 2025 with a standing room only audience, providing a look ahead for the American agriculture commodity sector.
Financial ag advisor Shawn Hackett offered his perspective on how farmers and consumers can prepare and react to the unpredictability of weather systems during his Weather or Not session.
Several industry partners from the soybean, winter canola, and wheat sectors joined ASTA in Orlando to provide case studies on how customer demands will push the seed industry into new frontiers during the Drivers of Land Use Change General Session.
Annie Petsonk, U.S. Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, rounded out the convention programming on Dec. 12 in a chat with ASTA Board Member Kendall Palmer, Corteva, discussing sustainable aviation fuel, industry trends, their impacts on the seed industry, and political pathways for these practices with the new Administration.
The Field Crop Seed Convention will be held in Orlando next year, December 9-12, 2025.
