Washington, DC (December 19, 2024) - According to the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA), negotiations on a continuing resolution that would fund the government into the next year are ongoing.
A draft bill has been circulated that would include an extension of the current Farm Bill as well as economic assistance for producers, however support for this package has been eroding and it is possible that only a “clean” continuing resolution will be considered.
If the current Farm Bill is not extended by the end of the year, ASTA says there will be serious implications for key programs, including the Market Access and Foreign Market Development Cooperator trade promotion programs, and commodity support programs.
