Orlando, FL (December 18, 2024) - The International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) and the Seed Association of the Americas (SAA) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the recent ASTA (American Seed Trade Association) Field Crop Seed Convention held Dec. 10-13 in Orlando, FL.
Following several discussions of Directors and Officers of both organizations during the year, a closer cooperation was agreed. This collaboration should focus on seed quality in the Americas, especially in Middle and South America.
ISTA and SAA will collaborate in the area of capacity building in seed testing and a greater reach of ISTA Accredited seed testing laboratories in the Americas. Dissemination of knowledge using new technologies like webinars are agreed as well.
The MoU was signed by the ISTA President Dr. Keshavulu Kunusoth and SAA President Richard Winn.
