Lafayette, IN (December 2, 2024) - Indiana Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) Inc. announced the ISO/IEC 17025-2017 accreditation of its Seed Laboratory.
For 125 years, the ICIA Seed Laboratory has provided member customers with high quality seed testing services. The seed laboratory achieved ISO 9001 accreditation in 2002, and over the past 22 years, ICIA’s dedicated leaders and staff have made improvements to further enhance the quality of every test performed in the laboratory.
To provide even more rigorous and accurate services, ICIA committed resources earlier this year to transition the Seed Laboratory to ISO/IEC 17025, a standard specific for testing laboratories. In preparation for the accreditation, ICIA conducted extensive internal audits for the Seed Laboratory under ISO/IEC 17025 standards to identify any inconsistencies and made further improvements to address them.
In September 2024, an independent external auditor conducted onsite assessments on all seed lab procedures, and after careful review, an ISO/IEC 17025-2017 certificate was issued to ICIA. As a result, the Seed Lab has now joined the ICIA Genetics Lab under ISO/IEC 17025-2017.
