Buenos Aires, Argentina (October 22, 2024) - From September 30 to October 2 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 9th edition of the SAA Seeds Congress of the Americas brought together the main companies of the seed industry and specialists from all the disciplines that the seeds convene.

The SAA, together with ASA, were in charge of the organization of the Congress.

The event included panels, keynote presentations, and an agenda focused on the hottest topics: from the latest trends in technology to sustainability and the facilitation of seed trade. The presentations addressed in depth issues about intellectual property and regulation while also exploring how biotechnological tools are transforming the industry, with a special focus on gene editing.

The Seed Congress of the Americas was an opportunity to promote business, new products, share relevant information and the latest news regarding key issues for the industry and governments.

This event not only offered cutting-edge knowledge, but also a unique platform for networking and doing business. With high-quality breakout sessions and exhibits on topics of common interest, every moment was designed to maximize the experience.

All the participants were able to see themselves reflected in the experiences of colleagues, they were able to meet in person those they admired from a distance, sharing their own in the most enriching areas and loading up on the ideas that nourish the future, being protagonists of all the opportunities that will materialize from this congress.

The companies received the audience with stands for promotion, contact and exhibition of products and services, highlighted in the new configuration that incorporates agrotechnology to the global seed market.

The participants said goodbye with the promise of meeting again at SAA. 2025 Seed Congress, in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.

ASA's 75th anniversary: Argentina's seed industry

The choice of the host country was not accidental, the Argentine Seed Association celebrates its 75 years at the service of Argentine producers. And there was a panel dedicated to it.

Nicolás Gear, Héctor Huergo, Juan Cruz Molina Hafford, and Alfredo Paseyro shared the experience represented by 75 years of history, with the pride of being the oldest institution of the seed industry in the Argentine Republic.

In the panel, exclusively dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the institution, the participants went through the history (full of stories) of the institution, and while photos of its history were reproduced on the giant screens of the stage, achievements, characters and challenges were narrated. Facts, decisions, pressures and successes that led to what is now ASA: the benchmark institution of the Argentine seed sector.

The corollary was with the numerous recognitions, mentions and displays of affection for the institution and its representatives.
