Cambridge, UK (July 11, 2024) - The International Seed Testing Association is celebrating its centenary year, returning to Cambridge where it all began in 1924.
NIAB welcomed a delegation from ISTA to our NIAB Park Farm site outside Cambridge, with tours of our DUS and seed certification field trials, our crop transformation laboratories, a tour of our glasshouses highlighting our cereal pre-breeding research, our analytical services laboratories and the work of the Official Seed Testing Service in seed analysis and testing.
As part of the commemorations ISTA President Keshavulu Kunusoth planted a Persian Ironwood (Parotta persica) tree at NIAB, assisted by NIAB CEO Mario Caccamo, ISTA Secretary General Andreas Wais and ISTA Vice President Ernest Allen.
