True Potato Seeds (TPS) is the new revolutionary product for growing potatoes from botanical seeds. TPS has the following distinct advantages compared with the conventional method of planting potato tubers.

* Seed requirement per hectare is only 100 gms, compared with requirement of potato tubers of 2.5 tons per hectare and hence reduces cost of cultivation.

* Free from diseases and field resistance to late blight.

* Higher yield of potatoes, due to hybrid vigour.

* No problems of transportation and storage.

There are two methods of potato cultivation using TPS.
1) By growing Potatoes directly from TPS by transplanting seedlings.
2) By producing first small seedling tubers from TPS, and then using the same for sowing in the next season.

There is a big cost saving using TPS, since the seed requirements per hectare is only 100 grms. of TPS, as against 2500 Kgs. potato tubers required for planting one hectare.

By using the second method of planting small seedling tubers, the requirement per hectare is only 750 Kgs. per hectare, which is a big cost saving and gives higher yield of potatoes with good size.
