(05 September 2010) -- The Institute for Corn “Zemun Polje” has taken the leading position this year in the national market, regarding the sales of hybrid corn seed, and their share in the market is almost 40%, stated Director of the Institute Milosav Babic.

In the previous season the Institute “Zemun Polje” kept its position in the foreign markets as well, underlined Babic, while adding that some 30% of the production is sold abroad. All neighboring countries are importing our seed to some extent, specified Babic.

According to him, traditionally the largest foreign market is Russia, but the seed produced in the Institute is also distributed in Greece, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkey and many other countries.
