Hagie Launches New STX10 Sprayer

Date Posted: August 30, 2010

Boone, IA, (AgPR), August 31, 2010 – Hagie Manufacturing Company of Clarion, Iowa introduced the new STX10 high clearance sprayer to the public at the 57th annual Farm Progress Show. This is the first ground up sprayer design from Hagie since the STS12 was released in the fall of 1999.

Continuing their long tradition of industry leading design, the STX10 is another first for the US self-propelled sprayer market. Composite body panels cover the exterior of the machine providing styling as well as directing engine airflow. The design allows the engine, located at the back of the machine, to take air in through the top of the hood, preventing the buildup of trash that reduce airflow and keeping the engine cool during late season applications.

Another new innovation is the unique boom pivoting design that separated machine movement from the boom. The pivot is located under the cab rather than the boom transom. By locating the pivot at the machine, the amount of moving parts on the booms is also reduced increasing viability. The booms are also a new design, integrating a routing channel in the upper boom support, reducing the amount of hoses and wires and increasing visibility.

Like all Hagie sprayers, the machines weight balance is near perfect and along with a low dry weight give the New STX10 the lowest ground compaction and highest horsepower to weight ration of any 1000 gallon sprayer on the market. It is equipped with a 240HP 6.7L Cummins diesel engine and uses a Sauer-Danfoss H1 series hydrostatic twin pump to supply the power to the full time four-wheel drive system.

Like the other Hagie sprayers, the STX10 is equipped with independent automatically adjusting air-ride suspension.

The STX10 is available for the 2011 model year in a limited production, with full production scheduled for 2012. Hagie has always been close to their customers with the factory direct sales model. They have increased their interaction with a new ‘Voice of Customer’ project that will help guide their design for more products and features, like the ones included in the STX10.
