Indianapolis, IN--The new, low-cost, Model 3CM-6KH semi-automatic bag placer from American-Newlong, Inc., bags up to 1200 bags/hour using a vacuum generator to supply needed function instead of a motor.
The unit costs about 1/3 the price of fully automated systems and requires a minimum amount of space. It has a 200 empty bag capacity and uses virtually all kinds of multiwall paper bags.
Designed to minimize product filling time and provide high-speed operation, the 3CM-6KH features a pair of swing arms that picks up bags from the bottom of the stack, opens the bag mouth and places the bag for filling.
Sensors, located on the swing arms, detect if the bag is placed correctly, ensuring that the product does not discharge unless bag is properly clamped to the filling chute.
Bag is held from the opened gusset to provide a bigger filling spout, reducing product fill time and helping to increase speed of operation.
A swing hand and an outer bag holding plate provide positive bag clamping.
Other features include a PLC (programmable logic controller) that allows the operator to pre-select settings to obtain optimum operation and simple, easy adjustment of bag width and bag length to accommodate different bag sizes.
Virtually all kinds of multiwall, spot-pasted bags, including woven-laminated paper bags, can be run on the bag placer.
The bags can range in size from 650-950 mm long x 350-470 mm wide x 114 mm maximum gusset (25.6" to 37.4" long x 13.8" to 18.5" wide x 4.5" maximum gusset) and have an open circumference range of 928 mm to 1200 mm (36.6" to 47.2").
Types of bags that can be used with the placer are sewn open-mouth bags, pinch-style bags and pasted block bottom bags with a filled bag weight range of 10 to 50kg (22 to 110 Ibs).
A scale discharge chute is optional.
