Lundell Plastics announces a new product to extend the life of steel augers: UHMW wear shoes.

UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) is the plastic of choice in industrial and agricultural applications where abrasion resistance is required.

Lundell Plastics has developed a process to pre-form UHMW to fit onto new or worn steel auger flighting, thus extending the life of the auger.

Some applications would be combines, grain carts, transport augers, bins and grain handling systems, wherever there is high volume and wear is a problem.

The wear shoes will be available in different diameters, pitches and thickness to fit most common augers.

Each individual shoe will cover one pitch (revolution) of the auger.

They are pre-formed and pre-drilled for one easy installation.

They join together using a patented bevel lap joint and are bolted to the auger with special UHMW-capped bolt which is counter sunk for a continuous smooth surface.
